Zero Waste Day was celebrated at KSR Institute of Dental Science & Research on 23rd June 2026 to promote sustainable practices in dentistry and healthcare. The event opened with an informative talk by Dr.C.Thangam on zero-waste management in dental settings, covering source reduction, segregation, safe disposal, and practical clinic-level steps. Students showcased creativity and engagement through a Green Fashion Show featuring 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year BDS participants who modeled outfits made from recycled and upcycled materials. A lively flash mob by 1st and 2nd year BDS students spread concise waste-reduction messages, followed by a street play by 3rd year students dramatizing the consequences of improper biomedical waste handling. A poster-designing display and upcycling exhibition highlighted visual campaigns and practical repurposing ideas for campus use. The program successfully raised awareness, encouraged student-led sustainability initiatives, and generated interest in follow-up workshops and implementation of better waste-segregation practices across clinical areas.
