Workshop on Basic Life Support conducted!

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery organized “GOLDEN HOUR 2023” – Basic Life Support Workshop on 9th November 2023. Twenty faculty members, 25 postgraduates, and 93 interns attended the program. Dr.S.Mahendra Perumal, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, was the resource faculty for the workshop. The workshop focused on the importance of identifying affected victims and delivering them effective Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Dr.Mahendra Perumal also discussed about the details of survival chain and highlighted about the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The steps of CPR were demonstrated in the mannequin and all the participants were asked to perform CPR in the mannequin. Pre-test and post-test was also conducted for the participants to assess their knowledge on CPR and BLS.
