On the occasion of World Environment Day, a Tree Plantation Drive was organized on 5th June 2026 at K.S.R. Institute of Dental Science and Research, Tiruchengode, in association with the Cauvery Calling Movement and supported by volunteers from the Isha Foundation. The programme was graced by Mr.M.Sengottuvel, Block Development Officer (Village Panchayat), Tiruchengode, and Mrs.P.Senthil Rani, Block Development Officer (Block Panchayat), Tiruchengode, as the Chief Guests. The event was presided over by Principal Dr.Sharath Asokan. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, local farmers, volunteers, and members of the public from nearby communities. During the awareness session, the speakers emphasized the importance of tree plantation, environmental conservation, and the collective responsibility of safeguarding natural resources for future generations. Special emphasis was also placed on innovations in organic farming, highlighting sustainable agricultural practices, soil health improvement, and eco-friendly methods that support environmental conservation and long-term agricultural productivity.
As part of the initiative, tree saplings were distributed to the participants to encourage plantation activities in their homes, farms, and local communities. Saplings were also planted within the campus premises, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The event successfully created awareness about the significance of afforestation and inspired participants to contribute towards a greener and healthier environment.
