Rally organized in Erode on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day!

An awareness rally was organised on the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day” on 30th May 2026 by the Deparment of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology and the Department of Public Health Dentistry in association with the Indian Dental Association, Erode branch in Erode. The rally started from the Corporation Office, Erode at 7.30 AM and ended at Kalingarayan Illam, Perundurai Road. At the start of the rally, a No Tobacco pledge was taken by the students of KSR Institute of Dental Science and Research, members of IDA and the conservancy staffs. The rally was flagged off by Mr.V.Selvaraj, Deputy Mayor – Erode, IDA secretary Dr.K.V.Brindha and Convenor CDH Dr.M.Rajmohan. A total of 200 participants took part in the rally, including 105 students from KSRIDSR, members of IDA and conservancy staffs. Anti–Tobacco placards were displayed and slogans were voiced in the rally. The public were sensitized about the ill effects of tobacco.
