In view of National Toothbrushing Day, the Department of Public Health Dentistry conducted a free dental screening and awareness program for children at Government Middle School, B.P.Agraharam, Erode on 12.11.2021. A dental team consisting of 3 dental staffs, 16 interns and 2 non-teaching staffs conducted the program. The children were educated about proper brushing technique and maintenance of oral hygiene. Demonstration of brushing techniques was done using health education model. A total of 89 children were screened for the presence of oral diseases and those who were diagnosed with dental diseases were referred to KSR Institute of Dental Science and Research for further management. At the end of the program, free toothbrushes and toothpastes were given to all school children and teachers.
