KSR Educational Institutions organized the KSR Mini Marathon on February 9, 2025, aimed at creating awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The marathon featured four race categories—10 km, 5 km, 2.5 km, and 1 km—catering to participants of various fitness levels and ages. Over 10,000 participants joined the event, reflecting strong community engagement and enthusiasm for the cause. The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Dr.C.Sylendra Babu IPS (Former Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu), Mr.T.T.Paranthaman (Managing Director, PRD Group, Tiruchengode), Thiru S.Rajesh Kannan IPS (Superintendent of Police, Namakkal), Mrs.P.Maheswari (Chief Educational Officer, Namakkal), Mrs.S.Kokila (District Sports and Youth Welfare Officer, Namakkal), Dr.B.Ganthimathi (District Inspector of Physical Education, Namakkal), Thiru A.K.P.Chinraj (Former MP, President, NDAA), Dr.R.Venkatachalapathy (Deputy Director of Physical Education, Annamalai University), and Tmt.Nalini Sureshbabu (Municipality Chairman, Tiruchengode). KSR Institute of Dental Science and Research (KSRIDSR) actively supported the event as part of the medical team, ensuring the safety and well-being of the participants in association with IMA Tiruchengode branch, K.S.Rangasamy College of Nursing, and K.S.Rangasamy College of Pharmacy. More than 100 students, NSS volunteers, YRC volunteers, and faculty from KSRIDSR participated enthusiastically, also serving as volunteers throughout the event. Placards about drug awareness were also displayed during the event. The marathon not only focused on promoting fitness but also served as a platform for educating the public on drug abuse prevention, fostering a healthier and more aware society.
