Free dental treatment camp for old age persons conducted!

On the occasion of International Day of Older persons which falls on 1st October 2023, the Department of Public Health Dentistry, KSR Institute of Dental Science and Research, and the Indian Dental Association – Erode branch together conducted a free dental treatment camp for old age persons at N.L.Karunai Illam on 13th October 2023. Faculty members, interns from Department of Public Health Dentistry and NSS Volunteers participated in this camp. Around 35 old age persons were screened for oral disease and appropriate treatment were given. Models were used to educate about brushing techniques and old age persons were explained about the importance of maintaining oral hygiene. Persons diagnosed with oral diseases were referred to our institution for further management. Overall, the program turned out to be successful in imparting the importance of oral health and maintenance among old age persons.
