Dr.Sowmya, a proud alumni of the 2022–25 postgraduate batch of our institution, was awarded the University Medal for securing the highest marks in the December 2025 MDS University examination in Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge. She received the honour from the Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru R.N.Ravi, at the 38th Convocation of The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University held on 27th February 2026 in Chennai.
