The Career Guidance Cell and IQAC of KSRIDSR organized a career guidance session for interns on 10th June 2026 at Rang Enclave. The programme was conducted to provide students with insights into international career opportunities in dentistry. The session, titled ‘Smile Across Borders: Building Your Dental Career in Australia’, was delivered by Dr.Lakshmanan Sowmithri Sivarajan, BDS, Diploma in Orthodontics (Sydney). Drawing from his professional experience in Australia, he shared valuable information on the pathways available for Indian dentists seeking to build successful careers abroad. The resource person discussed the various requirements for pursuing dentistry in Australia, including academic qualifications, licensing pathways, communication skills, clinical competence, professionalism, adaptability, and ethical practice. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, confidence, leadership qualities, and patient-centred care in achieving professional success. The session explored global pathways, professional growth, business development, and employment opportunities available to Indian dentists in Australia. The session concluded with an engaging discussion and question-and-answer session, during which students clarified their queries regarding career planning and opportunities in Australia. The programme was highly informative and beneficial for the interns, helping them understand the possibilities for professional growth and international careers in dentistry.
