God creates, prosthodontists recreate!! Prosthodontics is that branch of Dentistry pertaining to restoration
of natural and or replacement of missing teeth and craniofacial tissue with artificial substitutes. The department of Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge at KSR Institute of Dental sciences and Research was established in the year 2004. Since its inception the department has grown in all aspects as to regarding, Innovative teaching methodologies, Infrastructure development, Research activities, multiplying patient inflow and to inculcate in each student the importance of treating patients with a humane touch. Our motto is to provide the best possible treatment in the shortest possible time to restore function, speech and esthetics with utmost patient satisfaction.

Key Features

  • An entire floor (33,000 sq. ft) dedicated to prosthodontics, with an effective workspace of 18,500 sq.ft.
  • State of the art facilities for training UG and PG students with two clinical and one preclinical laboratory.
  • The preclinical laboratory has separate wet and dry sections which can accommodate up to 110 students.
  • Dental material laboratory with extensive facilities such as – temperature controlled water bath, vibrators, gas burners, acrylisers etc., to train undergraduates on manipulation of various dental materials.
  • The PG section has separate cubicles for each PG student (with individual lockers and wash basins). The PG laboratory houses separate work section for wax up, casting, finishing and polishing and ceramic layering.
  • A separate implant clinic, with its own sterilisation room and change room.
  • The department houses two receptions (UG and PG), two faculty rooms (for UG and PG staff), postgraduate room and separate store and sterilization rooms (UG and PG section).
  • Adequately stocked department library, with numerous books pertaining to the speciality, for students’ reference.
  • A spacious seminar room which houses a overhead LCD projector, computer with broadband internet connection and printer for the use of faculty and students.
  • Dental material Museum in the UG section, for student and patient education.
