General Pathology
Overview
The Department of General Pathology at KSRIDSR was formed in the year 2004. The Department is headed by Dr.J.Karthikesh MBBS., MD Pathology., Professor and HOD, who has 18 years of teaching experience. There are 2 tutors Dr. Suseela MBBS., and Dr.Mohan MBBS who have more than 10 years teaching experience. Over the past several years, we have had several batches of BDS students and MDS students getting trained in Basic Pathology. Our aim is to provide a comprehensive knowledge to the students about the Pathology behind disease processes, the causes, the changes they produce in the organs and their clinical manifestations.
Key Features
The Department has a spacious Laboratory where Practical classes are held in batches. The ample space is well aerated and is furnished by Granite topped work tables which have inbuilt light sources for viewing through Microscopes. Further, dedicated LPG gas lines are built in within the base of the table from a centralized LPG unit with safety valves provided within the department. There are enough number of Labomed Microscopes that have excellent resolution. In addition to this, the laboratory is equipped with Glassware, Hemocytometers, Hemoglobinometers and other necessary reagents necessary for their academic work. The department is having 30 Histopathology and Hematology slides for teaching the students. The Lecture Halls are spacious and are provided to accommodate 100 students. There are Audio-Visual Aids for teaching and a Computer with LCD Projector for presentations.
