Dental treatment camp conducted in old age home!

On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons which falls on 1st October 2023, the Department of Public health Dentistry of our college and the Indian Dental Association – Erode branch conducted a free dental treatment camp for old age persons at N.L. Karunai Illam on 13th October 2023. Staff members and interns from the Department of Public health Dentistry and NSS Volunteers participated in this camp. Around 35 elderly persons were screened for oral disease and appropriate treatment was given. Models were used to educate about brushing techniques and the importance of maintaining oral hygiene was explained. Persons diagnosed with oral diseases were referred to our institution for further management. Overall, the program turned out to be successful in imparting the importance of oral health and maintenance among old age persons.
